2010 GEICO ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – GEICO, a Delta Sigma Pi partner, will
present over $75,000 in Achievement Awards to college students across
the country. The program is open to Deltasigs who are sophomores or

Butler University Study Abroad Scholarship
~ Butler University has made available several $500 study abroad
scholarships for UGA students who will participate in Butler’s study
abroad programs in the U.K., Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Costa
Rica, Argentina, and Chile. Applicants must be UGA full-time
undergraduate juniors or seniors at the time they participate in a
Butler program, and they must meet the eligibility requirements of a
particular Butler University study abroad program. Applications

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta Scholarships
~The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta manages various
scholarship funds for the benefit of eligible applicants. Scholarships
allow our donors to invest in the future by helping deserving students

EHS
~FREE HOUSING IN NYC!!! EHS has just rolled out an exciting new
program! We are offering FREE SUMMER HOUSING scholarships! The lucky

each week. Educational Housing Services is a Not-for-profit
organization that provides safe and affordable fully furnished housing

Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund
~Eligible participants are financially needy dependents of those
killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks on
September 11, 2001, and during the rescue activities relating to those
attacks. Specifically, the Fund will benefit dependents of the
victims, including airplane crew and passengers, World Trade Center
and Pentagon workers and visitors, and relief workers, including
firefighters and emergency medical personnel and law enforcement
personnel. Participants must plan to enroll in or already be enrolled
in a course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college,
university or vocational-technical school based in the United States.

Georgia Army National Guard
~ Amount (Montgomery GI Bill (with kicker): $16,380 | Critical
Skill/Unit Bonus: $8,000 | Service Cancelable Loan/Grant: up to
$20,048 | 75% Tuition Assistance Program.) The Georgia Army National
Guard offers the GI Bill, Tuition Assistance, and Loans/Grants to
college students that are repaid by service to the National Guard. In
addition to the aforementioned educational funding programs, the
National Guard offers technical training in many modern career fields
as well as a program to pay back existing student loans. Often
referred to as the ‘best part-time job in America’, the National Guard
offers full-time benefits to students who wish to participate on a

Gilman Scholarships for Study Abroad
~ The Gilman Scholarship Program supports undergraduates with high
financial need to study abroad. Students are encouraged to choose
non-traditional study abroad destinations such as Africa, Asia,
Eastern Europe or Latin America. To be eligible for this scholarship,
students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarships
~ Last year the Hispanic College Fund awarded $1.8 million to over 615
students nationwide. HCF Scholars not only benefit from funding, but
also from joining a powerful network of HCF Scholars, corporate
executives and government leaders vested in developing the next
generation of Hispanic professionals. HCF Scholars include some of the
nation’s top college students studying business, finance, engineering
and the sciences. Through the HCF network, students have started
careers at companies like Lockheed Martin, Estee Lauder Companies and

Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships (Study Abroad)
~ The purpose of the Ambassadorial Scholarships program is to further
international understanding and friendly relations among people of
different countries. Today, the program sponsors several types of
scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as
qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad,
scholars serve as ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host
country and give presentations about their homelands to Rotary clubs
and other groups. Upon returning home, scholars share with local
Rotarians and others the experiences that led to greater understanding
of their host countries. Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships
provide funding for one academic year of study in another country.
This award is intended to help cover round-trip transportation,
tuition, fees, room and board expenses, and some educational supplies
up to US$25,000 or its equivalent. All applicants must be citizens of
a country in which there are Rotary clubs. Applicants must have
completed at least two years of college-level coursework or equivalent
professional experience before commencing their scholarship studies.
Candidates cannot be Rotarians, Honorary Rotarians, or employees of a
club, district, or other Rotary entity or of Rotary International.
Spouses, lineal descendants (child or grandchild by blood or legal
adoption), spouses of lineal descendants, and ancestors (parent or
grandparent by blood) of persons in the foregoing categories are also

Tobacco Farmers Scholarship Fund
~The Tobacco Farmers Scholarship Fund was established for the children
and grandchildren of tobacco farmers. The applicant must be enrolled
full-time, have a 2.5 overall GPA, and must demonstrate financial

United Negro College Fund
~Since 1985, the UNCF Scholarships and Grants Administration office
has awarded in scholarship assistance over $105 million to over 28,000
students enrolled in its 39 member colleges and universities and other
HBCUs and majority institutions as well. We provide support in

United States Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC)
~Full and partial tuition for undergraduate and graduate school, fees
and books, and a $3,450/year incentive plus up to $400 monthly stipend
for juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Air Force ROTC awards
three and two year scholarships for undergraduate and graduate
students on a competitive basis. Students normally must have two years
or more left before degree completion, attend a four or five summer
field training camp, enroll as a cadet and pursue a commission to
serve on active duty as an officer for a period of at least four
years. Scholarship types and amounts vary but are generally open to
students with a minimum 2.65 cumulative GPA. Scholarships are
available for all majors, including professional degree programs such
as medical, nursing, and pharmacy. Scholarship applicants must pass
other qualification criteria such as academic and physical fitness
tests and a medical examination. All juniors, seniors, and graduate
students with any major and a 2.0 or higher term and cumulative GPA
may be eligible for a $3,450/year incentive towards tuition and books

United States Army
~ Loan Repayment Plan: Up to $65,000 of loans | Army College Fund and
the Montgomery G.I. Bill: $26,500 – $50,000 | Tuition Assistance: 75%
of tuition while attending college courses during active duty. The
United States Army offers the following educational opportunities and
benefits to qualified individuals: LOAN REPAYMENT PLAN: Applicant must
have 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of college. Your student

United States Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps
~ Army ROTC awards three- and two-year campus-based scholarships. The
UGA Professor of Military Science selects winners from local
applicants. This campus-based program increases a local student’s
chance of earning a scholarship over previous national ROTC
scholarships. The scholarship pays full tuition, $600 for books, and a
yearly stipend of up to $4,000. Recipients also get paid for attending
a five-week summer camp after their MS 3020 class. Applicants must be
full-time students, have two years remaining in their undergraduate or
graduate programs, be a US Citizen, have a college GPA of 2.5 or
better, and a SAT of at least 850. Applicants must meet the Army
physical fitness standards and interview with the Professor of
Military Science. After graduation, scholarship winners become a
Second Lieutenant and serve in the Army. For more information contact

CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD APPLICATIONS DUE JANUARY 2  - The Career
Achievement Award is presented biennially to a brother who has
distinguished himself/herself in their chosen field of business,
government, or education, and through their accomplishments has
furthered a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the
civic and commercial welfare of the community.  The Career Achievement
Award is now presented only in even-numbered years with the next award
to be presented in 2010 (nominations due no later than January 2,
2010).  Please see the Awards & Recognition Guide for more
information.

Merage American Dream Fellowship (fourth years) — Friday, November 6th
Truman Scholarship (third years) — Tuesday, November 10th
Goldwater Scholarship (second and third years) — Tuesday, November 17th

The Mid-Term Foundation Fellowship application (second years) will be
available on the Honors website in mid-November and will be due in early
January.

Applications for the Udall Scholarship and Boren-NSEP Scholarship are
due for campus review in mid-January.
